2006年に別府アルゲリッチ音楽祭にてバンドネオンの世界的権威ネストル・マルコーニと出会い、その後自作CDの売上で渡航費を捻出してアルゼンチンに渡り、現在に至るまで師事。

2008年10月、イタリアのカステルフィダルドで開催された第33回国際ピアソラ・コンクールで日本人初、史上最年少で準優勝を果たす。

2011年5月には別府アルゲリッチ音楽祭に出演し、マルタ・アルゲリッチやユーリー・バシュメットら世界的名手と共演し、大きな話題と絶賛を呼んだ。

2014年度出光音楽賞受賞。バッハからガーシュウィンまでを編曲・演奏するなど、既成の概念にとらわれない意欲的な取り組みや、バンドネオンの可能性を追求する真摯かつ精力的な活動ぶりが2010年9月NHK「トップランナー」に取り上げられ、再放送となる反響を呼ぶ。テレビやラジオ出演も多数。

2017年、ドイツにてドグマ・チェンバーオーケストラとマルコーニ作曲の「カーメラタンゴス」で共演。また自らが率いる室内オーケストラ「東京グランド・ソロイスツ」を新たに結成し、さらなる活動の場を拡げている。

また、NHK大河ドラマ「青天を衝け」の大河紀行音楽演奏を担当するなど若手実力派バンドネオン奏者として各方面から注目されている。

2022年日本コロムビアより三浦一馬五重奏団「ピアソラスタンダード&ビヨンド」、2024年8月にバンドネオン・レジェンド～ベスト・オブ・ピアソラ&マルコーをリリース。

使用楽器は、恩師ネストル・マルコーニより譲り受けた銘器、Alfred Arnold。

In 2006, he met the world-renowned bandoneon master Néstor Marconi at the Beppu Argerich Music Festival. Thereafter, he traveled to Argentina using proceeds from sales of his self-produced CDs to cover his expenses, and has continued to study under Marconi ever since.

In October 2008, he became the first Japanese musician and the youngest competitor ever to win Second Prize at the 33rd International Piazzolla Competition held in Castelfidardo, Italy.

In May 2011, he appeared at the Beppu Argerich Music Festival, performing alongside world-renowned artists such as Martha Argerich and Yuri Bashmet, attracting widespread attention and critical acclaim.

He received the 2014 Idemitsu Music Award. His ambitious approach, unconstrained by conventional boundaries—ranging from arranging and performing works from Bach to Gershwin—as well as his sincere and energetic pursuit of the possibilities of the bandoneon, were featured on NHK’s Top Runner in September 2010, generating such a strong response that the program was rebroadcast. He has also made numerous appearances on television and radio.

In 2017, he performed in Germany with the Dogma Chamber Orchestra in Carmela Tangos composed by Marconi. He also newly formed and leads the chamber orchestra Tokyo Grand Soloists, further expanding the scope of his activities.

He has also gained attention from various fields as one of Japan’s leading young bandoneon virtuosos, including performing the travelogue music for the NHK historical drama Seiten wo Tsuke.

In 2022, Nippon Columbia released Piazzolla Standards & Beyond by the Kazuma Miura Quintet, followed in August 2024 by Bandoneon Legend: Best of Piazzolla & Marconi.

His instrument is a prized Alfred Arnold bandoneon, inherited from his mentor Néstor Marconi.
