幼少期よりピアノを、8歳でトランペットを始める。2016年にバークリー音楽大学修士課程の第1期生として首席(summa cum laude)で卒業。在学中にはタイガー大越、ダニーロ・ペレス、ジョー・ロバーノ、ジョン・パティトゥッチ、テリ・リン・キャリントン等に師事、また共演。在学中よりニューポート、モントレー、モントリオール、トロント、ドミニカ等の国際的なジャズ・フェスティバルに出演。2014年国際トランペット連盟(ITG)ジャズ・コンペティション優勝、同年国際セロニアス・モンク・コンペティション・セミファイナリスト。2015年 千葉県流山市『ふるさとづくり功労賞』受賞。

2018年に帰国後は東京を拠点とし、アルバム「Infinite Creature」(ポニーキ ャニオン)でメジャーデビュー 。2022年『Brightness of the Lives』(Reborn Wood)を続けて発表。ジャズの聖地と言われるブルーノート東京には 本年で3年連続の出演を果たしている。

映画の分野では、自身が音楽制作を担当した『Trumpet』で東京ショ ート・ショート・フィルム・フェスティバルをはじめ、国内外の映画祭に て多数受賞。

2023年には初のソロアルバム『Plays Standards』をリリース。リ リースツアーの一環として中国ブルーノートツアーを行い、4日間の上海〜北京公演を成功させた。

作編曲家としては、2018年ダニーロ・ペレスの『Jazz 100』公演の編曲提 供、2019年のウェイン・ショーターのオペラ『Iphigenia』の一部の写譜、 テリ・リン・キャリントンが音楽監督を務めた『Nat King Cole Christmas』 公演の一部楽曲の編曲を担う。 2024年公開のNetflix連続ドラマでは楽曲提供とピアノ監修を担うなど、インターナショナルに活動している。

Started playing piano from early childhood and trumpet at the age of eight. In 2016, graduated summa cum laude as a member of the inaugural master’s program class at Berklee College of Music. While studying there, studied and performed with artists including Tiger Okoshi, Danilo Pérez, Joe Lovano, John Patitucci, and Terri Lyne Carrington. During this time, also appeared at major international jazz festivals including Newport, Monterey, Montreal, Toronto, and the Dominican Republic. Won the International Trumpet Guild (ITG) Jazz Competition in 2014 and was a semifinalist in the same year’s Thelonious Monk International Competition. In 2015, received the “Furusato Development Achievement Award” from Nagareyama City, Chiba Prefecture.

After returning to Japan in 2018, began working primarily in Tokyo and made a major-label debut with the album Infinite Creature (Pony Canyon). Followed by the release of Brightness of the Lives (Reborn Wood) in 2022. Has appeared at Blue Note Tokyo, regarded as one of the world’s premier jazz venues, for three consecutive years.

In the field of film, the movie Trumpet, for which he was responsible for the music production, received numerous awards at film festivals in Japan and abroad, including the Tokyo Short Shorts Film Festival.

In 2023, released the first solo album Plays Standards. As part of the release tour, successfully completed a Blue Note China tour with performances in Shanghai and Beijing over four days.

As a composer and arranger, contributed arrangements for Danilo Pérez’s Jazz 100 concert in 2018, assisted with score transcription for parts of Wayne Shorter’s opera Iphigenia in 2019, and arranged several works for the Nat King Cole Christmas concert directed by Terri Lyne Carrington. Also works internationally, including providing music and supervising piano performance for a Netflix drama series released in 2024.
